The Rhode Show
I interned for The Rhode Show during my senior fall semester. The Rhode Show is a local morning TV show all about the new and intriguing local events happening in the New England area and has local chefs come in every day to show off their recipes. The Rhode Show internship was focused on the broadcasting field and the production side of it. During my four months, it was very hands-on, requiring me to be on set and assist the co-hosts and guests with anything that was needed. I worked alongside the operations and production team and learned everything there is to running a show.
Story Posts
I was given access to the show's Instagram. I posted Instagram stories of behind-the-scenes moments to try to get viewers to tune in.
Breakdowns
I assisted with making the show's breakdown every morning. The breakdown contains the co-hosts that will appear, their mics, and their IFB code they will use. The names of the guests, who/where they represent, and which microphone they are assigned. It also mentions the co-host that will interview each guest and the location on set. The breakdown is essential for all before the show because it allows me to easily know who to expect, who to mic up, and where to place them before their assigned time begins.
Website Stories
I was able to write the web stories for the Rhode Show's cooking segment called "In the Kitchen". These stories highlighted the chef and their restaurant or company, and their ingredients and directions for their recipe of that day. I was also able to edit the kitchen segments through Anvato video player.
